Who we are
Burns Distribution was founded by Matthew Burns following his graduation from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. While many of his peers pursued traditional corporate careers, Matthew knew early on that corporate America was not the path he wanted to follow. Instead, he was drawn to building something of his own; something practical, scalable, and rooted in helping others.
The company began with a simple mission; to help local businesses in his community navigate the rapidly changing world of online commerce. Many small and mid-sized businesses had strong products but lacked the knowledge, infrastructure, or resources to sell effectively online. Matthew saw an opportunity to bridge that gap by handling the complexities of e-commerce operations, logistics, and marketplace strategy so business owners could focus on what they did best, building great products.
What started as hands-on support for local businesses quickly gained traction. As results compounded and demand grew, Burns Distribution expanded beyond its local roots. The company evolved from a small, service-driven operation into a global distribution partner, working with brands and manufacturers across industries and geographies.
